I have come to the realization that it is hard not being a traditional family. We are Christian and do many things traditionally but maybe not as our families did while the hubby and I were growing up. It is going to take some time for our families and some of our friends to get used to our ways. Some are supportive and some are not so supportive. We have been called to homeschool or dare I say I? I think both DH and I have because I couldn't homeschool without him going to work every day and bringing home money to buy food and such. We have done things different from some and extremely different from others. I breastfed all three of my babies. My DD and and DS#2 were what they formally call extended breastfeeders. I loved our time together. Now DS#2 didn't nurse as long as DD did. DD nursed for 23 months and DS #2 nursed for 15 months much to my dismay. I really would loved for him to have went longer. He is not having some problems with allergies. He had very mild eczema while I was nursing him. It never got really bad. Right now at 20 months, he is having so many problems. He has scratches all over him from him scratching because he itches so. There was one day this past week that he screamed for about 1/2 an hour because I had to do something. That something just happened to be putting lotion on the dry spots he was scratching. He had scratched so much and so hard he was bleeding. When I put the lotion on him, I know it hurt him! I was almost in tears from having to do that. Finally he went to sleep for a nap so I knew that if he was hurting, it wasn't bad enough to keep him from sleeping so that was good.
This week has been better than the last few weeks. My sister came on Monday and spent the night. I took the kids to school and tried to do some cleaning but it just didn't happen with my sister visiting. I visited with her. Then we went to eat with my granny. We came home and had a nice afternoon. We went to karate and Noah has finally started to get how to do his form 1 to get his yellow belt. We practiced a lot. We practiced Wednesday for a while and then again Thursday afternoon. He gets the jist and Master Worth was even going to give him his tip but I told him that I wanted him to be able to do it better than what he did for the test.
This morning Sarah and I went with her class to the strawberry patch. Before we went and met her class at the preschool, we went through Bobby's and got us something to eat. Shhh! Don't tell the boys. :) She had her face painted, rode a train ride, picked strawberries, ate homemade strawberry ice cream, and played on some swings and such. That was really fun. She had a blast with her class. We then came to Noah's water day at his school. He was sliding down these HUGE water slides. They were having so much fun too. We then came back home. Sarah, Caleb, and I rode our bicycles around the subdivision about 3 times. By that time it was lunch. Caleb was hot and tired and not to mention THIRSTY. He soon laid down and went to sleep. I am paying bills right now. DH has gone to town while Caleb naps. He is supposed to be back by the time it is time for me to go get Noah from school. I hope that he gets back before I have to get him. We have a family reunion tomorrow. At the moment I am so sleepy and would really like to take a nap. I think that is exactly what I will do after I get done with bills. At least enough to rest my eyes a bit. Until next time.....peace and blessings to you and yours!
